Since mental health awareness has existed medical professionals and researchers have searched for safe and effective treatments for depression. Unfortunately, there is no single treatment for depression which has been proven to work for everyone as it can be a complex diagnosis.

Depression is most commonly treated with antidepressant medications but many experience unwanted side effects and minimal therapeutic benefit. However, there is a successful alternative treatment for depression available. An effective, treatment for depression is Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). TMS has proven to provide benefit for people who have not received benefit from antidepressant medications or that cannot tolerate the side effects.

Sunrise Neuro Behavioral offers TMS Therapy which is an FDA approved treatment for patients suffering from depression who have not achieved satisfactory improvement from prior antidepressant medications.

TMS uses short pulses of magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells. At Sunrise Neuro Behavioral, TMS focuses on the area of the brain thought to control mood.

TMS is non-invasive. It does not involve surgery, anesthesia or sedation. The patient remains awake and alert during the treatment. TMS is non-systemic. It is not taken by mouth and does not circulate in the bloodstream throughout the body. TMS is FDA approved for patients who have not benefited from prior antidepressant treatment.
